Gum treatments (periodontal treatments)

You will need gum treatment if there are signs of bleeding when brushing!

Primary treatment can be done at home. Usually if mild, it will heal when cleaned well and possibly combining home treatment with a Chorhexidine digluconate mouth wash. There are sevaral brands and you may ask from your pharmacy or buy from a supermarket. Examples: Corsodyl mouth wash, Oral B mouth wash etc.

Sometimes home treatments will not help. There may be an underlying reason which will not be obvious to you. Then, professional consultation is advised. Untreated gingival(gum) infection will eventually lead to tissue destruction, periodontal disease, bone loss and eventual tooth loss.
